DDR3 SDRAM step up revolution!

So, this is the post to show the up gradation of technology which strictly implemented in ddr3 sdram. I will briefly explain it to you:
First of let me tell you the full form of it (double data rate type three synchronous dynamic random access memory). There are many benefits of taking a ddr3 and really they are many. The first ddr3 ram was introduced in 2005, it was firstly seen in a motherboard on 2007 which was based on Intel's P35 "Bearlake" chip set with DIMMs at bandwidths up to DDR3-1600.

Benefits of ddr3:
  • Compared to a ddr2 ram the ddr3 uses very less power which is a great. It uses 30% less power as of ddr2. ddr2 consumes 1.8 to 2.5V while ddr3 consumes only 1.5V.
  • The benefit comes from the higher bandwidth given by prefetch buffer, ddr3 is 8-bit(burst deep) while ddr2 is 4-bit(burst deep).
  •  DDR3 modules can transfer data at a rate of 800–2133 MT/s using both rising and falling edges of a 400–1066 MHz I/O clock. Sometimes, a vendor may misleadingly advertise the I/O clock rate by labeling the MT/s as MHz. The MT/s is normally twice that of MHz.
So, this are the benefits of it over ddr2. Afterwards product was upgraded and a ddr3l was introduced in "l" stands for "low energy", ddr3l uses very less power which is around 1.35V which really to less.

Demerits: There are very less demerits of it but still they are:
  • Price of ddr3 as compared to the older ddr is very high which is to be concerned. Cheaper the price more is the sell but then also it can be overcome.
Review: So, my review over ddr3 is, perfect product to be purchased while buying a computer or a laptop it has no backlog's in it, it  will defenetly be increasing the speed of your system and will consume less power which is definite.
